COVID-19 Information: Updates for Manitobans & health providers  •   Immunization: eligibility criteria

Directions

Our campus is bordered by the following streets: William Avenue (north), Sherbrook Street (east), Notre Dame Avenue (south) and Tecumseh Street (west).

Please note: There will be a partial closure of the 700 William Ave entrance from Aug. 2-Aug. 26, 2022 for renovations.

Patients, visitors and hospital staff are being asked to plan ahead in anticipation of potential lines or delays at screening while one of HSC Winnipeg’s main entrances at 700 William Ave. undergoes a temporary construction-related closure.

The entrance at 700 William Ave. (closest to the William Avenue drop-off loop) will be closed from Aug. 2-26, 2022 for renovations. An alternate single-door entry into 700 William Ave. will remain open, with signs posted to guide the public to that location.

This temporary closure may result in some longer screening lines for members of the public. All patients, visitors, and staff are reminded of the continued requirement to undergo screening prior to entry to the hospital. While every effort will be made to maintain physical distancing in the entrance, anyone visiting HSC Winnipeg is asked to wear a mask while waiting. Medical-grade masks will be provided at the facility.

The following access and drop-off points along William Avenue will remain open:

  • Access through the William Ave. Parkade Skywalk.
  • The William Ave. drop-off loop will remain open for continued use. Vehicles are not permitted to stop on William Avenue.
  • For outpatients visiting for an MRI, access to the Kleysen Institute for Advanced Medicine through the Canad Inns Hotel entrance will also remain open.

Patients and visitors may also use alternate entrances to the facility listed below.

We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause. Shared Health and HSC Winnipeg wish to thank all patients, visitors, and staff for your patience and understanding while this work is ongoing.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Visitors to HSC can be dropped off or picked up at any of our major entrances. However, all entrances* have a 10-minute loading zone restriction; vehicles cannot be left unattended. Please plan for this when making your arrangements to be picked up or dropped off.

*The exception is Adult Emergency and Children’s Emergency. The driveways leading to these entrances have short-term metered parking. This is so you can park your car, assist someone into the Emergency Department and then move your vehicle to one of our parkades.

Please be courteous and do not block the way of other drivers, ambulances and health care staff.
