Andrea Meakin

Executive Director Health Services

Andrea has over 24 years of experience working in healthcare, having begun her career as a Speech Language Pathologist. For the past 14 years, she has held progressively complex leadership positions across the WRHA and Shared Health. At the Director level, Andrea has provided exemplary leadership for both site and regional programs supporting patients across the lifespan within acute, rehab, and long term care settings. Andrea joined HSC in May 2021 as the Director of Health Services for Allied Health, Geri-Rehab and Volunteer Services before transitioning to the Director of Health Services for the Medicine & Oncology program in 2022. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrea held several Hospital Incident Command (HICS) roles including Deputy Planning Chief and Operations Chief.

Andrea holds a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from Northern Arizona University, a Graduate Certificate in Health Systems Leadership from Royal Roads University and a green belt designation in Lean Six Sigma.

Andrea is passionate about team-based interdisciplinary practice and is recognized by her colleagues for her collaborative focus both within HSC and across organizations. She leads with a calm presence and thoughtful approach when facing challenges alongside her teams, maintaining a focus on process improvement and efficiency to provide quality care for patients and families across Manitoba.
